Lessons of Life

How Notorious was my Dad.

Its a true story based on the real life incident which was been narrated to me by my Dad. It is a story of a notorious kid whose only motto of life was to enjoy the life on the edge. He was in his 6th Class when this incident took place. He was a student of St Francis D’assisi High School. He enrolled himself in the SSL in which the students had to clean the premises of the school to keep it neat and clean. This guy had a science exam on the next day and he was busy doing interesting things before the exam. A Sir called a bunch of guys to his place where he instructed the boys to plant the trees inside the compound of the premises which then were the quarters for the teachers.

Sir asked this little guy about his preparation for tomorrows exam and he replied, ‘I will pass sir.’ Sir who was leading this SSL team was also the Science teacher for the kids. He told this little kid about the importance of science in the real life and also told him that tomorrow’s paper is going to be very tough. He was carrying that paper in his hand. In those days there wasn’t a xerox copy of the papers been provided. They used a cycloscope to print the papers which were handwritten indeed.

He kept the paper into the Cupboard and locked it and left the room. There was a science experiment where if u take the lime juice and rub it on a paper using a brush, the lime water soaks into the paper. 3 days ago, this kid performed the experiment using three papers and kept it on the Science Sir’s Table. Sir used one of those paper to set the Science paper. The imprints of the main paper created another imprints on the remaining paper but without the ink. This kid took the other three papers and went home. He locked the door and ignited the stove and started giving a warmth effect to the papers which he bought from the teachers quarters. The places where the lime was been rubbed became darker. The experiment worked. He was now having the Full Science Paper in front if him. He studied all the answers well and went to the school next day to appear. He saw the paper and was shocked. It was the same one which he got it out of those lemon rubbed and warmth given ones. He wrote the whole paper and came home happily. But there, he forgot the papers which he rubbed at home which had fallen into the hands of his elder brother.

Elder brother was a very bright student and was a ranker of his class. He asked for an explanation and told mom about it. Both of them were expecting an answer from him. He said I watched an English film from which I got this idea.

To make this little guy disciplined and to teach him a lesson, the elder brother took him to the same sir who set the paper. Sir was shocked as he didn’t expected this from him. He said that he can’t deduct his marks as he wrote the paper very well. Tears started flowing down from the sir’s eyes. This little guy told the sir to do whatever he feels like to do and is very sorry for it. The Professor didn’t said a word and told them to Go.

After three years, Professor came again into his life as his class teacher for class 9. His First question to the kid was, ‘Any new experiments?’ He smiled and said Sir, I have changed. You could have restigated me for what I did, but u gave me a chance. Sir replied, That’s because u confessed about it. And in Christianity, The one who confesses should be given a 2nd Chance and is free from all the sins.

That little kid was my Father. Jagdish Vojhala.

We are Blessed to have known your father. He was Shastriji to our family. He led us and guided us on the path of spiritualism. He stood by us like a rock of Gibraltar. He had simple prayers and rituals for the most complicated issues. He was a PILLAR OF STRENGTH in our time of need. His departure from this world has left a vaccum that will ALWAYS be there. Siddesh, May God give you and your family the courage to bear this loss. Rest in Peace Shastriji. You shall be missed forever!
